Sodium Formate is a solid runway de-icer that is used on runways, taxiways, and parking aprons. It is environmentally safe and works by lowering the freezing temperature of water, ensuring that there is enough friction between aircraft tires and the runway. This helps to protect against ice, snow, freezing rain, and slush.
Sodium Formate is non-toxic, non-hazardous, readily biodegradable in water, maintains an ultra-low BOD and COD, and does not contain chlorides.
